"Motivational Style"
We all have black and white ideas about motivation. Either we are motivated or we are not.
Dr. Temple Garden, who is autistic and has written books on this special type of brain, says that the way of thinking and understanding things in the world cannot be the same for all people, the world has a special brain. It prioritizes everyone and then those who don't think the way the system wants them toThey face problems.
American Psychiatrist Dr. Alok Kanojia says that while making medicines in the West, when data is collected, it is done with a few people in mind. On how it affects the person, and that is why one typeMedicines are prescribed to everyone, but they do not work the same for everyone, less for some, more for some, not at all, and can have a negative effect on some.
And the same thought is also related to our motivation. One type of motivation does not work for everyone. Because we all have different cognitive styles. As your cognitive style is, so is your motivational style. Not everyone is motivated by just saying “you can do it, go show it”….. Of course there will be some people who are motivated by that but not everyone is.
I will talk about the three minds and the method of motivation associated with it, which is just a theory, it has no scientific research, but there is definitely some wisdom in this theory, maybe it will be of use to you.
1- Wind Mind:
A mind that is dynamic. Getting excited by seeing new things and getting bored soon. Such people usually try to commit themselves to a single task with consistency but they are not successful in it. Instead of forcing yourself to focus on one thing, people with such a mindset should spend their time on a few things (not too many, but a few essential tasks), they should take more breaks during the day and whatever tasks they have. Keep changing, as soon as you get bored with task number one, you will turn to task number threeThey will not feel bored. And these are fast learning minds.
You will not be like those people who spend years on a single task, but according to your personality, you will be able to do each task better by giving time to different tasks. The example of this mind is that of fast runners and not those who participate in marathons. Such a mind is often prone to anxiety and worry. Usually, problems are not as big as they seem, which negatively affects their motivation. This mindset usually reflects those with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
My own mind is a wind mind, and that's why I keep tackling different tasks, so I stay motivated, I can't just focus on one thing.
Fire Mind:
It is the mind that is worshiped in the modern capitalist world because it is the mind that persistently sticks to the same task with little motivation. And these are the people who are successful and we all watch motivational videos to be like them and wish in our hearts that we could be completely motivated and focused like them. These are the people who don't need many breaks during work (while they should), the ones who "burn their anger and energy on their task." They have a strong will and ability to work, while their stamina is often the answer to their energy.
Because such people have the ability to do a lot of work without any breaks, they find other people who are different from them lazy and lazy, usually they think people are lazy and stupid, they don't understand why and how people are motivated. Not to do their job, while they should compare others to themselvesDon't go along. But as their energy is high and that is why when all the energy is used up then they get physically and emotionally burnt out because of course there are some disadvantages of constant motivation, but then after some time a new task. Get and feel motivated again. However, this mind is most liked in our world.
Earth Mind:
As the name implies, these are slow, stable and durable minds. But they have only one complaint about themselves, why they are not fast and quick learners like Wind Mind, and constantly motivated like Fire. This mind is a slow learner but forgets slowly and they also master their work, if the wind mind learns quickly then it forgets quickly.
People of this mindset should understand themselves and give time. Patience is very important for this type of personality. But they also face a lot of discouragement and criticism from others for slow learning. If others are criticizing, then try not to criticize yourself too much, it starts slowly but when these people learn, their speed increases and then their motivation also increases. While Wind Mind is the opposite, Wind Mind starts off very fast but tends to slow down over time. They need to understand their mind.
The purpose of sharing this theory is to show that the mind (fire) that is worshiped in the West (especially America because the whole world is the West) is not necessarily the same mind of all. The world needs not one kind of mind, but different kinds of minds, says Dr. Temple Garden. We are all different and we must understand ourselves how our mind learns best and under what conditions. By comparing here we stop our growth, if comparison gives us advantage in some places, it harms us in many places. There are, and when we are failing, there are more. Then it is said that knowing oneself is very important.
