*robbery rage*

*robbery rage*   *Hamid Mir*   * We had heard a lot of stories about the amazing corruption of politicians. Yesterday afternoon we had the opportunity to hear the corruption stories of a man who, who, who, who, who, for many years, years, years, years, was both a wonder and anathema to many politicians. This person's name was Faiz Hameed.    *I thought that I knew a lot about the person, person, person, person, but yesterday I met three such personalities at a friend's place, and after listening to their conversation, I felt that Faiz Hameed is not the head of any intelligence agency but of an underworld gang from 2019 to 2021. were*   *After hearing the stories of Faiz Hameed's looting, I had to admit that there are other places beyond the stars and there are many more tests to trace Faiz's corruption.*   * A businessman present in this gathering did not say anything that was heard, but he was telling his own bait. In 2021, a false case was made against hi...

How can science improve in Pakistan?

How can science improve in Pakistan?

This question is often asked that you tell the problems related to science and education in Pakistan, but do not tell them the solution. This question is important in its place because simply stating the problems does not solve the problems. But two things must be understood here. First, the first step in problem solving starts with identifying the problems, while the second step is identifying the causes that lead to problems. The third step is to find possible solutions based on these reasons and ensure their implementation. However, the third step can only be carried out well until the first two steps are well established. The first two steps (identification of the problems and their causes) are laborious and in Western countries regular teams based on economic and social scientists and experts from other fields are formed to get to the root of the problems. The world's largest consulting firms help governments in this regard. At the government level, seriousness is shown in this regard. The reason is that the civil societies of these countries keep drawing attention to the problems of their governments. These people create awareness about the issues in the public through media, social media, newspapers and other means of communication due to which the public representatives include these issues in their political agenda in the elections in the face of public pressure. This is the state of the civilized world.

After the stage of identifying the problems and knowing their causes, the third stage is to advise the government regarding policies by these experts. These suggestions are weighted with data. At the individual level, experts in their respective fields do what they can to help you and your circle of influence. However, large-scale change and implementation of policies is not a matter for these people as it requires government resources and government machinery.

There is an urgent need to bring fundamental changes in Pakistan regarding development in the field of science. The first and most important task in this regard should be to abolish the parallel education system and make one curriculum but in different local languages according to the requirements of the modern age and away from the government agendas. In this regard, such teams should be formed in which there are academicians who are PhD level people and who have an eye on different schooling systems of the world. Similarly, in these teams, the teams consisting of teachers and parents of schools in different areas of Pakistan should be consulted so that the education system is modernized as well as makes it easier for local children to understand and learn. This is not a difficult task. In this regard, the government can take the services of various international consultant companies. For all these works, the government will need to increase the education budget.

There is a need for collaboration in research and teaching with universities in different countries at the level of such universities. Pakistani students should be given an opportunity to study abroad for one or two semesters in a university in another country like Erasmus programs in Europe. These will open a window to the world of education and research among the students and to the outside world. The government should determine such courses in which Pakistan wants to develop in the next ten to twenty years, and in this regard, the universities should prepare a batch of students who can become guarantors of the country's development in various important fields and do not stumble after graduating from education. A lot of money should be allocated for scientific research. Apart from Pakistani scientists, scientists from foreign countries should be invited on good salaries and benefits to come here and conduct PhD level research for students regarding the solution of local problems. All this is not a difficult task. But it requires seriousness and correctness of priorities.

Remember, if you do not know the real problems and their causes, you will continue to make deals with your public representatives for street transformers and street repairs for your future generations. And only if you understand the problems and their causes, you will be able to find their solutions at the government and individual level. Be happy and keep the candle of thinking lit.
