Graveyard of Indian Tanks.
"Chonda" is a town in the Sialkot district of Pakistan where the largest tank battle of the Indo-Pak War of 1965 took place. This battle was the largest tank battle since World War II. This war was fought between the two countries in the region between Ravi and Punjab.
On September 8, at six o'clock in the morning, the Indian army, crossing the Kundol line and forming three columns, attacked the Pakistani land. From the places of Bajragarhi, Nakhnal and Charwa, the Indian army launched an attack with the help of one armed and three infantry divisions and continued to advance for 12 kilometers without facing any resistance.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Air Force launched an attack on them but could not cause any significant damage to them. Pakistan army blocked the path of the Indian army near Gudgur and 15 tanks of 25 cal stood blocking the path of the entire Indian division. The Indians had already destroyed their 3 tanks and moved to a defensive position in the middle of the crowd.
Chondah is located at a distance of 30 km from the Line of Control. On September 14, India attacked Chonda, but despite eight days of fierce fighting, Chonda could not be conquered and returned to India after destroying 150 of its tanks until the ceasefire. The soldiers of Pakistan Army made great sacrifices in this war.
General Tikka Khan was commanding Chondah Mahaz at that time. Pakistan's limited number of tanks meant nothing in the face of a full wall of enemy tanks. General Tikka Khan addressed the soldiers and put a strange war trick in front of his soldiers. That we will tie bombs to our bodies and block the path of the advancing tanks of the enemy.
General Tikka Khan first presented himself for this honor. After that, General Tikka Khan told the soldiers that whoever wants to kill himself for the defense of the motherland with me on this life-threatening mission should take a step forward and express his consent. In the next moment, General Tikka Khan saw that all the soldiers were ready to take a step forward and go on this mission.
Then General Tikka Khan said that we want a small number of headmen, so the young men who have six brothers of their house should come forward, a few young men should come forward, then he said that the young men who are five brothers of their house should come forward. A few more young men advanced. Then he said that the young men who are the four brothers of his house should go ahead. Then many more young men came forward.
Thus, a "Fana fi Allah" squad was formed of those veterans of the Pakistan Army who tied bombs to their chests and went and lay down under the enemy's tanks. What happened was that the enemy was very happy at the sudden end of resistance on the part of the Pakistan Army. That maybe Pakistan Army is losing the war now. And it is retreating. The enemy started advancing with all his strength.
As soon as the enemy tanks were caught in the war net of the Pakistan Army, at the same time the prominent sons of Watam Aziz (who were lying in the path of the tanks with bombs attached to their bodies) started blowing themselves up and thus the bridges were destroyed. Indian tanks started flying all over the place. The enemy was severely demoralized.
In the name of God, what can I tell you about the pleasure of being cut!!!!!!!!!! Everyone will see my beautiful youth in heaven
Seeing the sudden change in the situation, the enemy put the remaining tanks on the way back and thus the cunning Indian army attacked Achsanak Pakistan without any announcement and without any tension. Now she started running back after holding her breath. In this way, these brave sons of the motherland sacrificed their lives to defend the motherland.
Thanks to the unparalleled sacrifices of these brave and self-sacrificing soldiers, today Chondah is remembered as "Graveyard of Tanks" in history.
