Today I was going to get my first income of my life. Three months' salary was received together with leave. When I reached home, it was Eid time. Parents and siblings were all very happy. I put all the money on my mother's hand. The mother separated the third part of the money with the intention of spending it in God's way and said to buy ration with this money and deliver it to the house of a widow who lived in a distant neighborhood. I went at the same time and bought the ration. Food was arranged for me at home. He entered Rezai to enjoy delicious food together with his siblings and to relieve the fatigue of the journey. The eyes were getting heavy from sleep when suddenly the thought of this widow and her orphan children came. Intended to go now and deliver the goods, I was feeling lazy and thought I will deliver tomorrow. But later, I thought that I had enjoyed the trouble of eating so that those children would not be hungry. At the same time, he came out of the quilt, put on a sheet, put the bag on his shoulder and went towards his house. 

It was very cold, there was a lot of fog and it was difficult to lift a heavy bag. This woman had a house in a distant neighborhood. Her husband was a laborer and had four children. Her husband died in a sudden accident and now there was no one to take care of her orphaned children. Fate is also very ironic. Sometimes it envelops such people who have no one but God. 

He reached outside the widow's house with an ocean of thoughts. What was the house was rather a mess. There was a room, a small courtyard and a curved four-wall. When the door was knocked, a 5-year-old girl came out. On whose face, anxiety, fear and hunger were prominent. I was touching his face and was praying in my heart that God would not bring such a time on any child. This girl was wearing an old pair of clothes and a torn old jersey in a severe cold. The feet were bare, that too in this cold to freeze the feet. I put the ration bag on the ground without hearing anything. Looking at the bag, she said, "Is there food in it?"

I was surprised to hear this. Once again he repeated the same question. I nodded in the affirmative. The girl ran towards her mother screaming with joy and saying, "Mommy angel has come, mommy angel has come, mommy angel has come" and then two more small children ran to the door with joy. Sometimes they saw me, sometimes they were looting this bag with joy. 

Tears started flowing from my eyes, my lips were trembling and a cold wave was running through my body. God, what is this? Why do these children consider me a sinner as an angel? He was thinking that a woman who was his mother came to the door and stood in the doorway and started saying this in a raspy voice. 

My children were hungry for two days. Honor does not allow you to spread your hands in front of someone. My late husband also used to work hard but never extended his hand to anyone. There is no one to take care of them after they are gone. The relatives have pulled their hands and even the local people do not help. But sometimes good hearted people like you help. I was entertaining the children for two days by saying that an angel will come and bring food for us. That is why they think you are an angel. This woman said a few words of thanks to God, gave me many prayers and thanked me. 

I got back from there, the tears were not stopping. I have never felt so calm in my life as I was doing today. And guessed that the spiritual peace that comes from helping a helpless person is not found in any other work. 

There are many poor people around us who do not extend their hands to anyone despite being deserving. But they are definitely waiting for helping hands. Their daily bread is the only thing they spend their time on. Such people should be helped, even if it is just one meal. 

When he came home, his mother asked, "Son, where did you go all night?"
