Slavery holidays
When winter comes, winter vacations are over. So we extend the winter holidays. But we are not willing to think why we do winter vacation before reading the cold stress?
The Bahadur Company (East India Company) is also a thing of the past and the British rule in the sub-continent has also ended, but like a loyal subject, we are blindly, deafly and dumbly following the instructions of the neo-colonial masters as if we have this fear. If we make any changes in this neo-demographic arrangement, then we will crossRiver Shore will be sentenced.
The winter holidays which are celebrated in our country as 'right time' are actually neo-demographic holidays. These are not local holidays, they are East India Company holidays.
They started in 1843 from the Bombay Residency at the behest of the then British Governor George Arthur.
This company was the beginning of Bahadur's power when he was appointed as the governor here. India had not yet come under his rule, but his early impressions were beginning to be seen.
These East India Company holidays have nothing to do with winter. The fact is that the local cold was not a problem at all for the officers coming from the subcontinent from Britain. They came from a cold region and the cold in India was not such that they were forced to take vacations because of it. . The problem was something else.
British officers had two engagements at the end of the year. One for Christmas and one for New Year. So, Governor George Arthur ordered that the holidays should be done in such a way that both ceremonies could be held in peace and quiet. So these holidays would start from December 23rd so that there would be half a day for the preparation of Christmas. The holidays used to last until January 1 to celebrate 'Happy New Year'.
The East India Company ended, the British rule also became a thing of the past. New countries were formed. An independent country named Pakistan came into being but our bureaucracy is still faithfully following the two hundred year old rules of the East India Company. In the last week of December whether it's cold or not, we have a holiday by George Arthur. It has to be done under the formula.
So, when the "winter" holidays are over, winter comes and when winter comes, the bureaucracy issues a new decree that since it is really cold now, we have to increase the holidays. are doing
But even this increased insolence does not happen everywhere. So, the holidays were increased in Punjab, but the holidays were not increased in Swat etc. The parents of the children continued to protest and demand that the winter is severe, so the children's holidays should be increased, but the bureaucracy replied in a tongue-in-cheek manner that if your children get sick in an environment without heaters in freezing schools, then without our knowledge, holidays. So we Sir George Arthur Sir Bahadur of the East India CompanyIt has to be done under the formula.
The same is the case with the summer holidays. The heat here was painful for the British bureaucracy. There were British in the bureaucracy and almost all the judges were British. They demanded that we cannot work here in this summer. So Bahadur Company suggested summer vacation for them.
Now the issue was that the British judges had to travel to and from Britain during the summer holidays and this period would obviously be long. It would take a long time to come and go by ship. So the East India Company decided to give them three months' leave so that one and a half months would be spent traveling and one and a half months they could stay in Britain.
This period of summer vacation was later implemented in Pakistan as well and the vacation in the Supreme Court is only two to three months. Although the court is not completely closed during these holidays, but still this is the period of the holidays.
Summer vacations are understandable in children's educational institutions, but where air-conditioning works in offices and even in corridors, any response to these neo-demographic vacations is incomprehensible.
We have to think to adapt the holidays to our local requirements and needs. It is not necessary that what the East India Company did one and a half to two hundred years ago should be accepted as the standard truth and the final universal truth.
We have to untie this psychological knot of the neo-demographic age. We are not subjects of the East India Company. Now we are citizens of a free country. If something from the neo-demographic era seems right to us, then there is no harm in keeping it, but it is not wise to make something as a yoke of slavery just because this company is the legacy of Bahadur.
In the British neo-colonial era, where books like "English Etiquette for Indian Gentlemen" were written to teach us the manners of slavery, "Good Muslims" were written for the subjects who wholeheartedly followed these manners of slavery. The term was coined. British rule is over but still among our decision makers. It seems like a competition is going on to become a loyal and good Muslim of the British Empire.
This spectacle must end now. We are now free citizens of a free country. From law to administrative matters, we have remained prisoners of the same traditions that were imposed on us during the British neo-colonial era. Britain itself may not have imagined such surrender.
The interesting thing is that when a Muslim talks about connecting with his cultural traditions, he is criticized for being conservative, but on the other hand, it is the case that the traditions of the British neo-colonial era are blindly followed without thinking. It has been. Change is a distant thing, no one even talks about what bureaucratic usis shaking with the rod of slavery.
This attitude does not grace a free country. There is a need to awaken the feeling at all levels in Pakistan that our decision making should not be based on the traditions of Company Bahadur, but decision making should be determined in the light of our local needs and cultural traditions.
It is known that George Arthur's holidays are given in full, but only two or three holidays are given on Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. What else is called slavery?
